The No. 22 Texas Tech tennis team defeated Cal Poly 4-1 in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship to advance to the second round.

The Red Raiders are 6-6 all-time in the NCAA first round and 7-11 all-time in the NCAA championships.

The Red Raiders will now face No. 14 California (13-11) at 3 p.m. CT at the Hellman Tennis Complex on Sunday. Cal got a 4-0 win over UTSA in 2 hours and 13 minutes.
