The Red Raiders led 34-26 at halftime, but a Stephen Hurt 3-pointer pulled the Wildcats  to within  45-44 with 7:50 left. The Texas Tech defense held the Wildcats scoreless for the next five minutes going on a 14-0 run of their own. During that stretch, junior guard Devaugntah Williams took over for the Red Raiders with 11 straight points to secure the victory.

Williams finished with a team-high 22. Junior guard Toddrick Gotcher added 15 points and senior guard Robert Turner recorded 13 to aid in the effort. Freshman forward Zach Smith chipped in nine points and eight rebounds and a pair of assists and blocks each.

Kansas State leading scorer, sophomore, Marcus Foster was suspended for the game due to a violation of team rules.  Thomas Gipson scored 13 points to lead the Wildcats in Foster's absence.

The Red Raider victory snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Wildcats.

 

This win ends Kansas State’s 10-game win streak over the Red Raiders.
