Texas Tech Has Huge Second Half On Way to Big Win Over USC
The Texas Tech basketball squad played their first Power 5 opponent and had to overcome a bad first half to blow out USC 78-63 in the HOF classic.
Texas Tech moves on to play Nebraska on Tuesday night, November 20th.
The Red Raiders shot just 27% from the field in the first half and were 1-9 from deep putting them into a 32-23 point hole at halftime. Then Chris Beard worked his magic, pushing all the right buttons and turning around a terrible first half into dominant second half outscoring USC 55-31 in the second half.
The Red Raiders shot 80% from the field after halftime and drained 5 of 6 three-pointers.
Beard utilized just eight players in the game with Jarrett Culver and Tariq Owens dropping 18 points apiece. Culver added 9 boards to his stat line. Owens also had some big momentum shifting dunks.
Matt Mooney and Davide Moretti both had 17. Mooney added 4 steals to his totals.
