Head Basketball coach Chris Beard has gotten a verbal commitment from Coronado basketball standout Jarrett Culver.

Culver announced the commitment via twitter:

You can watch his highlights below:

The 6'5'' Culver will finish his senior season at Coronado and join the Texas Tech Red Raiders next year, likely playing shooting guard in Chris Beards system.

Culver joins a recruiting class that includes, 2 other hard commits at the moment. Jordan Brangers and Hyron Edwards, both of which are playing JUCO basketball this season.

According to 247sports.com the Texas Tech program is in on some big time players, including High School senior, Trae Young. Young is the top player in Oklahoma and rated 5 stars.

It's awesome to see the basketball program following the Texas Tech baseball program recruiting locally. The South Plains area has a lot of talent that can supplement all of the Texas Tech rosters. It's always great to see Lubbock people do great. Hopefully Jarrett Culver does incredible things for Texas Tech and beyond.
