Formerly a Texas A&M recruit, Tyreek Smith has seen the light and now chosen to come to Texas Tech according to his twitter account. Smith is a Rivals.com 4-star prospect and committed to Texas Tech over TCU, Houston and LSU after an eventful visit to Lubbock last weekend.

Smith is a skilled big man that will fit into the Red Raider system nicely and provide some rim protection and points in the paint. He's the 5th high school commitment and 7th newcomer to Texas Tech this off season. There has been movement in and out of the program with transfers, graduation, NBA declarations and more, but Smith adds depth to the brand new look Red Raiders for 2019-20.

The Smith addition also puts Texas Tech as the top recruiting class in the Big 12 and 14th in the nation according to 247sports.com.
