We were already seeing it, but now we can confirm it. Chris Beard is officially recruiting at an elite level. Nimari Burnett, a five-star guard, has announced his commitment to Texas Tech joining four-star prospects Micah Peavy and Chibuzo Agbo.

Burnett is a 6'3" 185-pound combo guard and is the 5th rated at his position in the nation and the 22nd overall recruit according to the 247Sports Composite, an average of rankings from the major recruiting services.

The Burnett commitment gives Chris Beard three straight years of recruiting the highest rated recruit to ever come to Texas Tech in Khavon Moore, Jahmi'us Ramsey and now, Nimari Burnett. Noted by Jeff Borzello in the above tweet, it was Chris Beard's face to face meeting with Burnett that altered his recruiting process.

Burnett joining Agbo and Peavy puts the Red Raiders 1st overall in the Big 12 recruiting classes and 6th in the nation. He chose the Red Raiders over Alabama, Michigan, Oregon and numerous other schools.
