The Texas Rangers were able to bounce back from a series opening loss to defeat the Seattle Mariners 3-1 Tuesday night.

Rangers starter Matt Harrison picked up a well-deserved victory and closer Joe Nathan earned his 10th save of the year. Harrison struck out six, walked two and gave up seven hits while winning for just the second time since April 21st.

Harrison is now 5-3 on the year with a 4.72 ERA.

Mike Adams entered the game with two on and nobody out, but retired three straight hitters to help preserve the win.

"Mike has been big for us since the day we traded for him," designated hitter Michael Young said. "The eighth inning is important and we've got one of the best in the business handling it. He did a great job tonight."

The Rangers won despite finishing with a season-low four hits.
