Taste 37 Restaurants at Lubbock Meals on Wheels’ All You Can Eat Fundraiser
One of my favorite events in Lubbock is back after taking a year off due to COVID-19 and I'm so excited. If you haven't been to Lubbock Meals on Wheel's Mardi Gras Celebration, you're missing out.
Here's how it works: you buy your ticket and try out nearly 40 different restaurants from Lubbock that will be there handing out a bunch of samples of their food and drinks. I'm telling you that if you don't leave the Mardi Gras Celebration super full, that's your own fault. Plus, they will have live music, a silent auction, two benefit drawings and so much more.
The event will take place on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center's Exhibit Hall. Live music will be performed by Bo Garza, there will be cash bars, plus a variety of activities and other entertainment. They'll have a large children’s play area including a gaming trailer, bouncers, face & hair painting, and much more to keep the kiddos entertained for no extra charge. So this truly is a perfect event for the whole family.
This event is so important because it's Lubbock Meals on Wheels' biggest fundraiser. As a private, non-profit organization dedicated to preparing and delivering hot, nutritious meals to those who are homebound, elderly, or disabled, they really do depend on it a lot. They have more than 1,600 volunteers and delivered more than 216,000 meals in 2021. They're currently serving 70 routes in both Lubbock and Wolfforth.
Tickets are on sale right now to the Mardi Gras Celebration. They cost $45 for adults, and $10 for children 17 and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance online, at the Lubbock Meals on Wheels’ office, at any Select-a-Seat location (service charge applies), or for $50 at the door.
