Steve Evans Questions 4th On Broadway Parade Rules, Enforcement [Interview]
On Thursday's Chad Hasty Show, Steve Evans, Lubbock County Republican Party Chairman joined the show to discuss the controversy surrounding yesterday's 4th On Broadway parade in the annual Independence Day festival.
Evans described the parade and its restrictive rules, which prohibit displays containing political or social statements, and the possibly unequal enforcement of those rules.
While speaking on the reason Independence Day is celebrated, Evans said:
Nowhere are we remembering that [the holiday is about] the original 'Brexit' 1776. It was a battle fought by men who were revered, so that we can have the freedom to be idiots now. That point gets lost on us...It's very Austin-esque.
