Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Crash on Interstate 27

First responders were called to northbound Interstate 27 on July 4th at 34th Street for a serious motorcycle accident.

The motorcycle crash involving a car occurred in the northbound lanes of the 2800 block of I-27, sending the motorcyclist, identified as 33 year-old Marcus Smith, to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Initial reports say the motorcyclist was traveling northbound and struck the back of a car also traveling northbound, causing Smith to be thrown from the bike. Nobody in the car was injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
