Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery Brings Amazing Treats to the Hub City
Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery is now open at 114 W. Loop 289 (near Alamo Drafthouse), and boasts incredible signature cupcakes and homemade ice cream.
For recent Texas Tech University graduate Tory Brueggeman and her co-owner and fiance Austin Carrizales, location was everything when scouting out where to set up the shop.
"We thought [this location] would be amazing," Tory told us. "It's close to Texas Tech, and the movie theater next door."
Tory's love of Smallcakes is not new. She's been fascinated with the idea since she first tried one of their cupcakes.
"I visited Smallcakes in Houston, had one cupcake, loved it and went back for a dozen more," she said. "After I bought a dozen, I bought a store."
Tory's personal favorite cupcake? It's a tie between hot fudge sundae and chocolate cream, she said. Meanwhile, co-owner Austin prefers the birthday cake cupcake.
While Smallcakes only opened its doors on Friday, April 12th, but it's already seeing daily sell-outs. Tory's five-year plan is to open a section location in Lubbock. With a start like this, that sounds doable.
It's exciting to see this brand new store doing so well. Check Smallcakes out on Facebook for business hours, updates and more, and get out there to try enjoy some spectacular treats.
