Second Suspect Admits to Stealing Over $4 Million from Mail
Jessica Lynn Solomon has admitted to stealing over $4 million in checks while working as a postal contractor at the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
Joe Roy Rivas was the first to plead guilty in relation to this incident back on December 14th. However, back then, Solomon was said to have pleaded not guilty.
Both Rivas and Solomon worked for Cargo Force, Inc. at the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport between Spring of 2019 and February 2021. US Postal Inspection Service investigators had been made aware of what was called "a stockpile of stolen mail" that would be located at their home in Slaton.
KAMC News reports that while investigating this home, five 55-gallon trash bags were found filled with stolen mail, including hundreds of envelops with checks. These checks were said to be worth a total of over $4 million.
If a judge accepts either party's plea agreement, they will both face a maximum of 5 years in federal prison on charges of Conspiracy to Possess Stolen Mail.
