Update: The Lubbock Police Department has confirmed that one of the two people injured in Thursday evening's rollover crash has died.

According to LPD, 30-year-old Tommy Cisneros and 15-year-old Juan Soto were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Both Cisneros and Soto were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Soto was later pronounced dead. Cisneros, meanwhile, remains hospitalized and was listed in critical condition.

Original story: Two people are at a local hospital with serious injuries after a rollover crash Thursday night.

Members of the Lubbock Police Department and Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the scene of the crash just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday night (May 9th) in the 2500 block of the Marsha Sharp Freeway.

According to police, a vehicle was speeding in the eastbound lanes of Marsha Sharp when the driver lost control and rolled several times.

Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle and taken to UMC with serious injuries. Their current condition at the hospital is unknown and their identities have not been released.

Police closed a portion of Marsha Sharp Freeway for several hours to investigate the scene of the crash. The wreck has since been cleared, and all Marsha Sharp lanes have been reopened.
