Gas prices in the Lone Star State have dropped for the first time in several months.

Last week, the statewide average was $2.62 per gallon. This week, the price has dropped three cents to an average of $2.59.

Texas hasn’t seen its statewide average decrease since the beginning of February, when the average for a gallon of regular unleaded was just $1.97.

Nationwide gas prices have dropped as well from $2.89 last week to $2.88, just a one-cent decrease, but a decrease nonetheless.

In Lubbock, gas prices average $2.57 for a gallon of unleaded. That’s also just a one-cent decrease over last week.
