Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly named quarterback Evert Golson the starter when the No. 5 Fighting Irish visit No. 8 Oklahoma on Saturday.

Kelly made the announcement Tuesday that Golson is at 100 percent. Kelly had benched Golson against Brigham Young last week as a precaution, saying he wanted to give him more time to recover from a concussion sustained in a helmet-to-helmet hit against Stanford.

Golson had passed all required concussion testing by last Tuesday but did not fully participate in practice throughout the week, leading Kelly to start junior Tommy Rees against BYU.

Golson has started five games and played in six, competing 58.5 percent of his passes for 968 yards and four touchdowns. The redshirt freshman has thrown three interceptions and has lost four fumbles, adding 81 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns.

Meanwhile Bob Stoops announced that senior defensive tackle Stacy McGee has been reinstated to the Oklahoma roster. McGee had been serving a suspension since the preseason for a violation of university rules.

McGee started three games in 2011 and was a key part of Oklahoma's defensive line rotation in 2010. He had been working with the scout-team defense in practice this season but will rejoin the first-team unit this week.

Kickoff between the Sooners (5-1) and Irish (7-0) is set for 7.pm. CT on ABC.
