Since Jett Duffey announced his transfer from Texas Tech University, he's committed to two separate schools. First to Tulane, and then to Central Michigan. Both schools, however, claimed academic issues when denying Duffey admission.

Now, a news story is circulating that claims Jett Duffey's past is just catching up with him.

Duffey's 2017 Title IX issue was well documented in Lubbock and caused him to be suspended from the school. Then, a 2018 arrest followed after a night out on the town with teammates during the offseason turned criminal. Now, a separate 2019 Title IX incident has surfaced and is linked with Central Michigan's application denial.

The story first broke on Central Michigan Life, the school's student-run media company, where Duffey's alleged victim, a Texas Tech student, provided police reports and gave her account of a March evening that involved alcohol, cocaine, a pill she thought was Adderall, and a trip to Duffey's apartment. The outlet reports that the student told police and official at Texas Tech University that Duffey had raped her.

The incident was in March, the police report is dated in May, and the Title IX mediation wrapped up in September of the same year -- about two weeks before Duffey took over for Jackson Tyner in Norman, Oklahoma.

The March incident went through the proper channels at Texas Tech according to the article after providing a police report and a Title IX mediation that ended in "voluntary resolution."

Duffey's attorney, Chuck Lanehart, told ESPN.com that Duffey never faced criminal charges for the 2019 allegations.

"Jett is a talented football player, an excellent student, and he deserves a chance to continue his college playing career," Lanehart told ESPN. "He has consistently maintained his innocence of allegations of misconduct and has been cleared by Texas Tech of any Title IX allegations from 2019."

Duffey is now looking for a 4th opportunity after Texas Tech, Tulane and Central Michigan.
