The evening of Monday, December 13 is the filing deadline for candidates in next year's primary elections in Texas. No candidate applications will be accepted after 6pm.

Locally, a number of Republicans have already filed with the Lubbock County Republican Party for their place on next year's ballot. This includes four different candidates for State Representative District 84: Carl Tepper, Kade Wilcox, Cheryl Little and David Glasheen.

The Lubbock County Republican Party Headquarters will be open on Monday from 10am-6pm for the final day for candidate filing. LCRP Headquarters is located at 2642 34th Street in Liberty Plaza.

Meanwhile, Lubbock County Democrats have not announced any local filings ahead of Monday's deadline. The Lubbock County Democratic Party Chairman, Gracie Gomez, will be accepting candidate filings on Monday, December 13 until 6pm at 913 Texas Avenue.

A note concerning candidate filings, potential candidates for offices that cover multiple Texas counties have to file with their respective state party office in Austin.
