A Lubbock man was arrested after he allegedly put a 10-month-old child into a backpack and left it in his car for several hours.

An investigation shows that the suspect, 27-year-old Trevor Marquis Rowe, had picked up the child, Marion Jester-Montoya, from his shared residence with the child's mother. He is said to have taken the girl to his place of employment.

Reports say that Rowe put the girl into a backpack and placed her in the front passenger floorboard of his car where she was left for several hours.

After his lunch break, Rowe apparently move the child into the trunk. He check on her several hours later and found her not breathing. Rowe called 911 and drove to the intersection of 130th and Upland Avenue where he attempted CPR and waited for EMS.

Rowe was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center for capital murder with his bond set at $2 million.
