Lubbock County Sheriff’s SWAT Team Responds to Domestic Dispute

Sunday (May 19th), a SWAT team with the Lubbock County Sheriff's was called to a residence near Wolfforth.

At around noon, local authorities responded to a domestic dispute in the 9200 block of County Road 7640.

A man had barricaded himself inside a home with a 4-month-old baby. After a two-hour standoff, the infant was recovered from the home and taken to Covenant Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

The man, identified as 36-year-old Jose Luis Nino, was arrested by police at around 4 p.m. He faces multiple charges, including Domestic Violence Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Abandoning or Endangering a Child, and other outstanding warrants related to child support and traffic violations.
