Lubbock County Commissioner Bill McCay announced Thursday, September 26th, that he will not be seeking a fifth term.

McCay has held his seat as Precinct 1 commissioner since 2005 and while he isn't retiring, he was looking at opportunities in the private sector. He also said he has been approached about, "Running for higher office and that's something I'll consider."

During his speech McCay said he wanted to leave the Commissioners office in good hands then said, "Former Police Chief Greg Stevens has expressed interest in continuing public service and running for this office."
