There was a recent attempted kidnapping in south Lubbock. Thankfully, the young lady escaped.

The LPD released a composite sketch of the alleged perpetrator. But now a video from a security camera shows the man right before the attempted crime. If you know who, or where, this man is alert the police immediately.

From LPD:

We now have this video of the suspect from the September 11th, 2018 attempted kidnapping in the 7200 block of Avenue W. This video is right before the suspect grabs a 15-year-old girl from behind while she was walking in the area. The teen screamed, and luckily got the attention of neighbors. The suspect then ran off.

We know the video is blurry when you zoom in, but we're hoping between the sketch and this video, someone will recognize the suspect.

Here's the description from police:

  • Hispanic male
  • Possibly 17 to 20 years old
  • 5'7" to 5'10" tall
  • Dark colored GMC pickup truck, possibly a Sierra
