The LCU Lady Chap Basketball team beat Tarleton State last night 87-84. The game was the 20th all-time meeting between the two programs and was the Lady Chaps first win since January 19, 1989 over the TexAnns and their just their second win ever in the series.

Kelsey Canavan led the Lady Chaps with 21 points, scoring 13 of them in a highly competitive second half.  The other high scorers for LCU included Nicole Hampton with 16 points and Emily Atkins with 14 points.

Both teams shot high number of free throws as LCU went 28 of 37 from the charity stripe and Tarleton State went 31 of 42 for their free throws.

LCU ended a two-game losing skid and avoided their first three-game skid since February of 2005, improving to 3-3 with the win. The LCU Lady Chaps next game is on December 1st against John Brown, their SAC conference opener.
