Jamar Wall’s Interception Seals Grey Cup Win For The Calgary Stampeders
While the majority of people in Lubbock spent the day mourning the firing of Kliff Kingsbury, a former Red Raider spent Sunday night playing a key role in the CFL Championship game.
Former Texas Tech cornerback Jamar Wall played a pivotal part in the championship win, including this interception late in the ballgame to seal the win and give the Calgary Stampeders a win over the Ottowa Redblacks 27 to 16 in the Grey Cup.
Jamar Wall is now a two time Grey Cup Champion in his tenure for the Stampeders. Some NFL teams may also need to take another look at Wall just in case they need a punter because he absolutely NUKED that ball off his foot into the stands.
Calgary finally won the CFL title in its third straight appearance; the Stampeders lost 39-33 in overtime to Ottawa in 2016 before dropping a 27-24 decision last year to the Toronto Argonauts. It's the franchise's eighth Grey Cup and its first since 2014.
