The 2014 NFL draft has come to a close as rookies begin to get comfortable with their new teams and for most, new cities.  That holds true for both of the Texas Tech football players who were selected in this year's first year players draft.  Standout tight end Jace Amaro was selected 49th overall in the second round by the New York Jets as the third tight end taken in this years draft.  The other Red Raider to hear his name called over the weekend was senior Linebacker Will Smith.  He will have a lot less distance to travel to his new home as he was chosen 238th overall in the seventh round by the Dallas Cowboys.  There were a couple of Tech players who got picked up in free agency.  Senior defensive lineman Kerry Hyder will join teammate Jace Amaro in New York while senior linebacker Terrance Bullitt will join the Baltimore Ravens.  The final Red Raider to get an invitation to training camp was senior wide receiver Eric Ward signed who signed with the Tennessee Titans.
