A Tropical Blob Will Impact Texas This Week
Get ready for Hurricane season in Texas, but the first "system" if you will, is not even a named system as of this writing. It could become a tropical depression, but for it remains more of a tropical... blob.
According to Texas Storm Chasers, a "wet period of weather" is expected across the Southeastern portions of Texas this week, and the amount of rain could be large. While Texas may not be getting hit with high winds, flooding conditions will be possible in some areas.
In fact, due to two different systems, much of Texas could see rainfall and cooler temperatures this week. For those near the coast and throughout Southeastern Texas, rainfall projections up to 14 inches of rain are possible in some spots. Again, most people will not see those totals, but heavy rain of 3-10 inches is possible along the coast.
The greatest threat from this tropical blob is flash flooding. Rain is expected to start Monday along the coast.
For those in West Texas and the Panhandle, our chances of rain begin to increase Wednesday into Thursday with cooler temperatures in store as well at the end of the week.
