The Houston Texans beat the New York Jets on Monday night, but the win came at a mighty cost.

Starting linebacker Brian Cushing has been lost for the season with a torn ACL.  The news was first reported by Yahoo! Sports Radio's John Harris and John McClain of the Houston Chronicle hours after the game.

Cushing was injured in the second quarter on a play when in which he was cut from behind by an opposing player. He had 29 tackles, 1 interception and 1 forced fumble this season.

The Texans are the best team in the AFC with a (5-0) record and their next game is Sunday night against the Packers.
