The Houston Astros were able to rally late yesterday as they beat the Boston Red Sox by a final score of 5-3.  This game would have to be decided in extra innings, as both teams bullpens would have solid outings.  Houston's combination of Jose Veras and Tony Sipp combined to go three innings while giving up zero runs on zero hits and only surrendering one walk between the two of them.  Starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel was on the mound for Houston as he went seven innings giving up three earned runs on six hits while striking out eight Red Sox batters.

Offensively, Houston struggled for the most part of this game as they were just 2-14 with runners in scoring position, but outfielder Jake Marisnick hit a two-run bloop double down the right-field line with two outs and the base loaded in the 10th gave the Astros the 5-3 lead.  Tony Sipp would then come back out for the bottom of the 10th and put the game away for Houston.

The win last night was significant in a couple of ways as it marks the first win for Houston at Fenway Park in nine tries.  Friday nights win was as the teams 51st win of the year which matches their season win total from last year's 111 loss year.  Houston will continue their week-end series against Boston today as they look to build off of last night's win.  First pitch for this game is set for 6:10pm from Fenway Park with the pregame starting at 5:45pm and you can hear all the action right here on Sports Radio 1340 the FAN.
