Houston Astros Trade Outfielder Jake Marisnick To New York Mets
Thursday morning, the Houston Astros made a bit of news when they announced that they were looking to trade outfielder Jake Marisnick to the New York Mets.
After a few hours it appears as the trade has gone through as the Astros are set to receive a pair of minor league pitchers in LHP Blake Taylor and RHP Kenedy Corona from the Mets.
The 28-year-old has spent the majority of his 7 year career in Houston. This past season, Marisnick hit .233 for the Astros in 120 games. He also hit 10 home runs and added 34 RBI.
While his numbers at the plate don't exactly stand out, Marisnick is a terrific defender and a perfect fit for the Mets where he will likely play everyday.
Marisnick seemed excited about getting to play for the Mets, citing the passion and hunger they played with last season.
