Thursday morning, just after 11:30 a.m., Lubbock ISD announced there was an increased police presence at Coronado High School.

This is due to information gleamed from students concerning the potential possession of a weapon by a student on campus. However, Lubbock ISD officials didn't say if the presence of a weapon was confirmed.

Lubbock ISD officials went on to say that the district's standard response protocols are being followed. Classroom instruction and class schedules are continuing as normal.
