The Houston Astros are now (2-0) on the season as they beat the New York Yankees (0-2) 3-1 Wednesday night in Houston.

Astros CF Dexter Fowler started the bottom of the first inning with a leadoff homer into the Astros bullpen in right field. Fowler then tripled in the third inning. He scored on a Robbie Grossman gounder to first that was booted by Yankee 1B Mark Texiera.

Fowler ended up going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Grossman went 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI.

Astros 3B Matt Dominguez added a solo homer in the seventh off of David Phelps.

Jarred Cosart pitched five innings and earned the win for Houston. Josh Fields came in to close out the game in the ninth and earned his first save of the season. Hiroki Kuroda took the loss for the Yankees.
