On Sunday the NBA Free Agency period started as teams started filling out their roster for the upcoming season. The Dallas Mavericks were relatively quiet, even though they had a ton of cap space, in terms of signing a big money free agent.

However, they decided to give one of their newest acquisitions from last season a new max contract, keeping him in Dallas for the next 5 years.

The Mavericks sent a package that included Dennis Smith Jr. and two future first-round picks to New York for Porzingis, last season as Porzingis was rehabbing a torn ACL he suffered earlier in the season.

Dallas will have a fantastic one-two punch with Luka Doncic and Porzingis for years to come as the future seems to be very very bright for the Mavericks.
