Dallas Cowboys Cancel Practice After Non-COVID Medical Emergency
There have been a lot of things reported this morning surrounding the Dallas Cowboys canceling practice after what was described as a non-COVID related medical emergency at the Star in Frisco this morning.
The Dallas Cowboys released this statement via DallasCowboys.com confirming that practice had indeed been canceled and it was a staff member that had experienced the medical emergency.

The decision is not related to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is due to a medical emergency involving a staff member, according to a team spokesperson.
Further information is still forthcoming, but the circumstances speak to the severity of the situation. The Cowboys are working on a short week due to Thursday's Thanksgiving kickoff against Washington, which means practice time is severely limited.

The fact that practice was canceled on a short-week made the emergency seem even more dire.
A short time later more information about who the staff member was started to come out. David Moore from the Dallas Morning News reported that Markus Paul, the Cowboys Strength and conditioning coordinator, was taken to the hospital at 7:30 am after being treated by Cowboys medical personnel.
The Cowboys released more information saying that Paul currently undergoing further medical tests.
"Shortly before 7:30 a.m. this morning, Dallas Cowboys strength and conditioning coordinator Markus Paul experienced a medical emergency. Paul was immediately treated by Cowboys medical personnel and transported to a local hospital by ambulance. As per the Paul family, Markus is in the process of undergoing further medical tests and additional information will be made available at the appropriate time."
The Cowboys statement continued that the team was notified at 8:05 am that practice had been canceled. The organization also extends its thoughts and prayers to the Paul family.
"The Dallas Cowboys players and staff attended a pre-scheduled 8:05 a.m. team meeting this morning and were told by head coach Mike McCarthy that today’s practice, scheduled for 11:30 a.m., would be canceled. The organization extends its prayers and support to the Paul family, and asks for friends and followers of Markus, his family and the team to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.”
The Dallas Cowboys are scheduled to play the Washington Football Team in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.
