In an uncharacteristically poor performance from Rangers' ace C.J. Wilson and closer Neftali Feliz, the Rangers lost a high scoring affair 9-8 to the Twins. After being embarrassed in the first game of their series, the Twins bounced back to even the series.

Wilson only lasted 4 innings for the Rangers, including a 19 pitch first inning. Things got bad for Wilson in the 2nd when he gave up 3 runs. However, Ron Washington let Wilson fight through it until he got to the 5th. Wilson walked the first 3 batters to load the bases in the 5th before Washington pulled him out. At the end of the day, Wilson gave up 6 runs on 7 hits.

Despite the bad night from Wilson, the Rangers were still in a position to win the game. After getting down 3-0 in the top of the 2nd the Rangers fought back with back-to-back RBI doubles in the bottom of the 2nd from Nelson Cruz and Mitch Moreland to make it a 1 run game.

The Rangers kept things going in the 4th. Cruz hit yet another RBI double to start off the scoring and give tie it all up. That didn't last long, as Yorvit Torrealba looked to finally put the game in the Ranger's favor with a 3 run homer. The big shot scored Moreland and Cruz and made it a 6-3 Ranger game. Elvis Andrus rounded out the big 4th for the Rangers on a RBI single to score Chad Davis. At the end of the 4th it was a 7-3 Ranger ballgame.

The Twins would fight back in the 5th with a pair of RBI singles. The first was a 2 RBI single from Danny Valencia with the bases loaded and the second came from Tsuyoshi Nishioka and make it a 7-6 game.

However, the Rangers extended their lead once again in the 5th on a RBI single from Torrealba to score Cruz and make it 8-6 heading into the 6th.

The Twins scored another RBI single in the 6th to make it a 1 run game once more.

Things fell apart for the Rangers when normal clutch closer Neftali Feliz came in to the game. Feliz got one quick out but the was quickly diminished when Nishioka was able to score Delmon Young and Nishioka was able to make it safely to first on an error from Andrus. The run tied it up. Feliz couldn't manage another out before giving up an RBI double to Joe Mauer and give the Twins the game winning run.
