Texas Tech Football head coach Tommy Tuberville has resigned. Tuberville will leave the Red Raiders to coach the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Noted SEC-country talkshow host Paul Finebaum noted on Twitter this afternoon that Tuberville was discontent at Texas Tech. "Spent 30 mins with Tubs Tuesday night in NY and he was anxious to have Lubbock in his rear view mirror."

ESPN Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell reports that Tuberville's buyout is $900,000.

The Red Raiders finished the 2012 regular season with a (7-5) record and will play Minnesota in the Meinke Car Care Bowl in Houston. In his three seasons with the Red Raiders Tuberville went (20-17) with a (9-17) mark in the Big 12 Conference. Tuberville was hired in January of 2010 after Mike Leach was fired.

Texas Tech has not announced an interim head coach for the Red Raiders bowl game.
