Texas Tech Red Raider Basketball Coach Billy Gillispie is on indefinite sick leave while a school investigation continues over mistreatment of players during practice.

Gillispie was released last Thursday from University Medical Center in Lubbock after checking himself and spending seven days in the hospital.

Jordan Tolbert told ESPN.com in a published story Monday saying that didn’t want to play if Gillispie came back as coach.

Andy Katz asked if Tolbert wanted Gillispie back and Tolbert said,

I don't. Maybe I would for the assistants. I haven't put that much thought into it.

There is a big sense of urgency. I don't want to play for him if he comes back.”

The ESPN story came out after a RedRaiders.com story published early Monday morning with waves of support from former players at Texas Tech and a parent of transfer who voiced his support of Gillispie.

The parent, Jerry Nash, is the father of Jaron Nash. Nash played for Tech last season and transferred to North Dakota.

Nash told RedRaiders.com that his son transferring had nothing to do with Gillispie and that Gillispie even called Jaron after his frustration of transferring and told him keep his head up.

Jerry has Multiple Sclerosis and has only seen his son Jaron play in person twice the past two seasons.

Jerry also said that tears were brought to his eyes when Gillispie entered a Tech team for a MS Walk fundraiser as a tribute to Jerry.

Last week, CBS Sports columnist Jeff Goodman joined the Sports Shack on 1340 The Fan and spoke about the allegations against Gillispie and what it means for Texas Tech.

Gillispie and Texas Tech Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt have not yet met to discuss the Texas Tech Basketball program.

Texas Tech finished 8-23 last season with a 1-17 record in Big 12 play in Gillispie's first season in Lubbock.
