An O’Donnell ISD employee has been arrested and an investigation into the matter has been launched. The O'Donnell ISD Superintendent Dr. Cathy Palmer released a statement Thursday stating that on Tuesday, October 18, the school was alerted that an O'Donnell High School employee had been communicating inappropriately with a high school student.

After the issue was brought forward O'Donnell ISD contacted the Lynn County Sheriff's Office and with O'Donnell ISD administrators and O'Donnell ISD's Resource Officer launched an investigation. While the results from that investigation was currently being done the employee was placed on an administrative leave. The following day, October 19, that employee was arrested by the Lynn County Sheriff's Office. The employee has since been identified as 27-year-old Nicholas Dominique Bueno who served as a Biology teacher, assistant football coach, and head boys basketball coach for O’Donnell ISD.

Secondary students were notified Friday, October 21, morning of the incident and the changes being made to instructional arrangements. O'Donnell ISD did alert Child Protective Services and the Texas Education Agency of the incident so that they may respond and handle this situation as they see fit. O'Donnell ISD encourages students and parents to contact the school counselor with any issues, concerns, or they just need to talk about the situation.

Bueno was originally arrested on Wednesday on charges of Enticement of a Child before being booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center. Bueno is still being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center as per this articles publishing date and is being held on a Federal Warrant or Detainer charge.
