On Wednesday, September 22nd, a vehicle chase in south Lubbock County ended with the suspect managing to flee on foot.

Wednesday morning at around 4:15 a.m., a Lubbock County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle and trailer parked beside a construction site in the 17500 block of County Road 1900.

The vehicle is described as a black Dodge Durango with a red trailer attached. As the deputy approached, the vehicle fled, beginning the pursuit. This caused multiple sheets of plywood and other lumber to fall from the trailer during the pursuit.

The chase ended in a field near County Road 1300 and Woodrow Road, just west of FM 179, where they found the vehicle and trailer, but the suspect fled on food.

Authorities are describing the suspect as a slender Hispanic male with short hair, possibly bald. The stolen lumber was found and returned to the original site.

As of the publication of this article, an investigation is ongoing and no suspects have been named.
