The point is, Lubbock has long since been thought of as a place where nothing happens. If it's not a gigantic show that can fill up the United Supermarkets Arena or a smaller show that can fit at a place like Jake's Backroom, it just wasn't coming to Lubbock.

I think comedians are the best fit for the venue. That might just be my preference. I think there are a ton of up-and-coming artists that could also benefit from the crowd size and indoor nature of the Buddy Holly Hall.

There are also a number of Broadway shows coming to the stage. I'd love to catch the Book of Mormon in Lubbock, but they also have Rent, Jersey Boys, Anastasia and many more heading to the Hub City.
