The extremely long wait to see Zhaire Smith back on the basketball court appears to finally be over. On Thursday, the Philadelphia 76ers tweeted that Smith would be assigned to their G-League affiliate Delaware Blue Coats, to prepare him for his potential comeback/debut for the 76ers.

When Smith was drafted/traded to the 76ers he suffered an injury that caused him to be out until late December, however he suffered a setback in the form of an allergic reaction to a food.

Head coach of the 76ers, Brett Brown, has said that he doesn't expect Zhaire to be on the court for the 76ers this season, but he will most likely see some time for the Blue Coats.

The next game for the Blue Coats will be on Friday February 22nd against the Maine Red Claws. You can catch the Blue Coats in action either on Facebook Live or on ESPN+ for the remainder of their games this season.
