You Can Take A Bike Ride With Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope
If you enjoy getting out and riding a bike, you might enjoy an opportunity being put on by the Mayor's Fitness Council called "Bike With The Mayor".
As the name suggests, Bike With The Mayor is an event where citizens can take a 6.5 mile bike ride with Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope. According to the press release from the City of Lubbock, the bike ride is a chance for the Mayor to bike and connect with citizens in Lubbock.
Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope and the Mayor's Fitness Council will host Bike with the Mayor on Saturday, May 15, 2021. The 6.4 mile bike ride will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Buddy and Maria Elena Holly Plaza, located at 19th Street and Crickets Avenue. There will be an LPD escort to ensure safety during the ride.
This is an opportunity for the Mayor to bike and connect with the citizens of Lubbock. This is a family-friendly event, but please leave pets at home. Masks are not required during the bike ride. All citizens are invited to attend.

The bike ride is free and open to all citizens in Lubbock who wish to participate. No registration is required either. Just show up with your bike, your helmet, and other family members who may want to ride.
Saturday's weather isn't looking too bad. There is a chance of rain on Saturday with high's in the lower 80's. With a 9 a.m. start time, the weather should be pretty good.
