It is a big Friday for the Texas Tech athletic program as tons of teams will be in action in some marquee matchups.

The #1 Texas Tech Track & Field will be in action at the 2018 Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium in College Station, Texas, both Friday and Saturday.

The Texas Tech Softball team is currently sitting at 12-7 record on the season and are riding a four game winning streak currently. They have a doubleheader on Friday as they take on Seattle University and California State University, Northridge as part of the CSUN tournament in California.

They will also take on CSUN again and have two games against Oregon State on Saturday and Sunday.

In baseball, the number 3 ranked Red Raiders face their toughest test this season as they are on the road taking on the #5 Kentucky Wildcats for a three game set. This marks the first time in both program's history that Texas Tech and Kentucky will meet each other.

Davis Martin will start Friday's contest against the Wildcats, with sophomore right-hander John McMillon tabbed for a game two start on the mound, while Sunday's starter has yet to be named.  Friday's game is set for 3 p.m. with both games on Saturday and Sunday beginning with a noon first pitch.

I'm also pretty sure that this can describe how everyone is feeling about the plethora of Tech sports happening today and this weekend and not just baseball.

As for the Red Raider basketball team, they are continuing their march towards a Big 12 Conference championship as they take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in the quarterfinal round with the winner heading to the the finals to take on either Kansas or Kansas State.

Tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m. with the broadcast being provided by ESPN2.
