Two Texas Tech Baseball Players Drafted in the First 10 Rounds
Two Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball players have been drafted in the first 10 rounds of the 2014 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.
Left-handed pitcher Chris Sadberry was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 6th Round and catcher Hunter Redman was drafted in the 8th Round by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Sadberry's record this season is (4-3) in 15 starts with a 3.49 ERA in 80 innings pitched. Sadberry's also recorded 52 strikeouts and allowed 23 walks. He is the only Red Raider pitcher to start every week during the season. The Red Raiders are (10-5) during his starts this season.
Redman this season is an All-Big 12 second team selection. He hit .328 with 13 RBI during Big 12 Conference play. Hunter Redman is the brother of former Tech 3B Reid Redman who was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 23rd Round of the 2012 MLB Draft.
