Two Accidents Happened in South Lubbock County on Thursday, October 1st
Two separate accidents happened in South Lubbock County on Thursday, October 1st.
The first accident happened a bit before 9 a.m.
KAMC News reports that the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash at the intersection of FM 1585 and Highway 62/82. It's said that a passenger car was stopped on FM 1585 as an SUV was on 62/82.
The passenger allegedly pulled out to turn without yielding the right-of-way and collided with the SUV.
A passenger in the SUV was transported to Covenant Medical Center for minor injuries.
It's unknown if any other people involved in the crash suffered any injuries.
The second crash, also reported by KAMC News, happened on Highway 84 near County Road 7500.
It's currently unknown how many people were injured in this crash or what exactly lead to it.
At around 1:27 p.m., a journalist on scene noted that emergency crews were still responding to the area, and that all westbound lanes on Highway 84 had been closed.
Aerocare was reported to be on the scene, but it hasn't yet been reported how many individuals were lifted from the scene or the severity of their injuries.
Despite the unknown number of those injured, it has been confirmed that one person has died as a result of the 2-vehicle crash. Whether or not they died at the scene or died later on is unclear.
