Taking their lead from the Big 12 conference, Texas Tech Athletics has canceled all youth summer camps for all sports as well as the Matt Wells Women’s Football Clinic and Gridiron Camp. The women's clinic raised more than $7,000 last year for the Voice of Hope, a local non-profit that benefits those affected by sexual violence in the Lubbock area.

The Girdiron Camp would have made it's debut this year and would have been similar to Chris Beard's fantasy camp, which allows Red Raider fans an opportunity to see how the sausage is made. Fans would have been able to go through the day-to-day activities of a football student-athlete such as workouts in the Sports Performance Center, film study and more.

Moving forward both the Women's Clinic and the Gridiron camp will take place, but the Big 12 has prohibited such events through August 31st.

Camps were also canceled from Men's and Women's basketball, Cross Country and Volleyball.

Meanwhile, Lubbock Christian University has its basketball camp underway with head coach Todd Duncan. The University has also held Baseball camps and more.

LCU will continue to hold sports camps throughout the summer. You can find more information here at lcusportscamps.com.
