I've spent the last several minutes scrolling through scanned letters to Santa Claus on a special USPS website dedicated to finding letter "adopters." The letters range from adorable to hilarious, from eyebrow-raising to tear-jerking.

I did not expect the number of seniors that write to Santa asking for simple things, or things for their grandchildren.

There are letters to Santa saying Christmas will be hard because a family member died this year. There are letters begging for forgiveness for little brothers because they didn't really mean it after all.

Basically, every human emotion is shown in these letters to Santa, and it's beautiful and wonderful. Anyone can read them, and if you decide to help out Santa by "adopting" a letter and sending gifts, you can do that, too. And that would be awesome of you.
