This house just might be home to the unluckiest family in the Hub City.

A house located along Avenue D has been hit by a car for the second time. That’s right, the second time. It’s not necessarily common to have a car crash into your home, so to have it happen twice is ridiculous.

The homeowner, Elizabeth Deleon, said that the first time her house was hit was back in 2013. She said the first driver drove straight into the front of her home and even shifted her bed that was against the wall with the impact. She still hadn't completely repaired her home from the first accident when this second incident happened just last week.

This time, the driver swerved and spun through her yard before scrapping her home. The driver then sped away from the scene, and the Lubbock Police Department has yet to identify the culprit. I'm absolutely flabbergasted that this happened to this woman more than once. Something even crazier is that she isn't even the only person in Lubbock to experience this same thing.

I'm also shocked that these drivers manage to get into such severe accidents. What were these drivers doing that led them to crashing into the house? Were they on their phones? Were they intoxicated? Were they speeding? It's terrifying to think that this is something that could happen to you because of a bad driver.

If this isn’t a wakeup call, then I don’t know what is. I see way too many distracted drivers on the road in Lubbock and they're the reason things like this happen. Get off your phone, don’t drink and drive, and go the speed limit.

I wish the best for Deleon and hope her luck turns around.
