The Texas Tech women's basketball team took down Houston, 60-54 in the championship game of the Athletes in Action Classic at United Supermarkets Arena on Sunday.  Texas Tech senior Amber Battle scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as she was named to the All-Tournament Team and MVP after posting a double-double for the second time in five games and eighth in her career.  She scored 14 of her 19 in the second half.  Red-shirt sophomore Minta Spears also was named to the All-Tournament Team.

With the win, the Lady Raiders now sit at 9-2 on the year as they have just one game remaining before they get into Big 12 play.  Tech is now 9-0 at home this season and has won its last five.  It's the fifth time in six years Tech has started out non-conference play undefeated on its home floor.  The Lady Raiders will get the next nine days off before returning home on December 30th to finish out non-conference play against Houston Baptist.
