The Lubbock Matadors Soccer Club is the newest entertainment event of the Summer for Lubbock Families. The Lubbock Matadors have set the city ablaze in the last few months with marketing appearances and a great list of national and local sponsors that have joined the team.

The Matadors are Lubbock's first professional sports organization in Lubbock since the Cotton Kings Hockey Team and some of the Arena League Football Teams that were in the LBK. I also don't want to forget about the incredible Lubbock Crickets who also played their role in the professional sports' history of Lubbock.

The Matadors SC is an expansion franchise that's a part of the National Premier Soccer League or the NPSL. Their inaugural game is on May 7th and it's going to be an absolute blast. The festivities really start on May 5th with a kick-off party at TwoDocs at 7:00 pm. The team at TwoDocs and the Matadors SC will have a limited-edition beer for those in attendance called "Dos Doctores" which looks incredible.

Then on May 7th at 5:00 pm the Lubbock Matadors SC will be hosting a Block Party with Tailgate Express to celebrate the 2022 Season Opener on 70th street outside Lowrey Field where the team will play their games this season.

The very first, 'first kick' will then take place against the Fort Worth Vaqueros at 7:30 which is again, the inaugural game of the Lubbock Matadors in the NPSL at Lowrey Field.

If you want to be a part of history, you don't want to miss this!

The games will run from May through July so if you want something fun and exciting to do this summer that will have a little something for everyone, get some season tickets to the Lubbock Matadors games.

The 10 Best 'Hole in the Wall' Restaurants on 34th Street in Lubbock

34th Street is known locally as "where the work gets done," but it's also where the eats go down. (Side note: I also might be the only one that says that because nobody else I know remembers that.) Back to the point, these buildings might be unassuming from the outside, but the kitchens absolutely know what's going on.
