Midland County Child Dies After Home Explosion, 3 Others Injured
Update: EverythingLubbock.com reported that 3-year-old Delaney Tercero (right in above picture) died Saturday afternoon (August 11th) following an explosion that destroyed her family's home in Midland County Thursday.
The three other family members injured in the explosion are listed in critical condition at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family. As of the writing of this update, it's raised more than $16,000.
The page added an update following Delaney's death:
It is with a heavy heart as we inform you that today Delaney won the overall battle and gained her angel wings to return home to her Heavenly Father. Lucia, Auden and Delayza now have a guardian angel watching over them as they continue to fight. We ask that you open your hearts for prayers and donations as the family continues to persevere through this tragic event. Original story: The four individuals from Midland County injured after a mobile home explosion have been identified.
A mother, two children, and a second adult were all critically injured. The Midland County Sheriff's Office say the victims have been identified as:
- 32-year-old Auden Tercero
- 29-year-old Lucia Cereceres
- 3-year-old Delaney Tercero
- 2-year-old Delayza Tercero
All four remain hospitalized at UMC’s Burn Center after a mobile home exploded in east Midland County Thursday morning.
KAMC News reports a pocket of natural gas sparked below the home and caused the large-scale explosion which could felt 15 miles away.
