Dontari Poe is the latest NFL player to sign with the Dallas Cowboys joining fellow 2019 Carolina Panther Gerald McCoy in Dallas and Poe puts the big in Big D. Poe, a 6'3" 346-pound nose tackle joins the Cowboys after playing with the new Dallas defensive coordinator Mike Nolan in Atlanta.

The McCoy and Poe signings in Dallas are an obvious shift in personnel from what Rod Marinelli had been doing with smaller penetrating players on the inside of the defensive line. The Cowboys can even play more multiple fronts with Poe on the field being able to anchor the line as a nose in a three-man front or as the 1-tech in a four-man front.

The Dallas defensive line has been renovated more heavily than any other group on the team and is obviously a point of emphasis for new head coach Mike McCarthy. It also points to plans for the upcoming NFL draft and what the Cowboys might do in the early rounds.
